Pontoon

How to play Pontoon

British Pontoon from a six-deck shoe. Twist, stick or buy, pontoon and five card trick pay 2 to 1, banker wins ties.

Pontoon is Britain's own take on twenty-one, dealt here from a six-deck shoe. You twist for another card, stick, or buy a card by adding to your stake. A pontoon, an Ace with a ten-value card, pays 2 to 1, as does a five card trick of five cards totalling 21 or less. The banker wins every tie, which is the main reason the RTP is 94.1%, lower than on our blackjack tables. Every shoe is provably fair and can be verified after the hand.

RTP and house edge

Pontoon has a theoretical return to player (RTP) of 94.1%, which is a house edge of 5.9%. RTP is a long-run average over a very large number of rounds, not a guarantee for any session.

Provably fair

Every round of Pontoon is generated from a secret server seed, a client seed you can change and a nonce, combined with HMAC-SHA256. The hash of the server seed is shown before you play. When you start a new seed the old one is revealed, so you can recalculate and verify each result yourself. Provably Fair | Check Every Result
